Vinification:

Vinified at 50% each in steel tanks and 2500-litre wooden barrels. Then matured for 12 months in new 600-litre French wooden barrels.

Tasting note:

This great red wine from Mallorca presents itself in a dense purple colour with violet reflections and an opaque core. It smells of freshly picked wild berries, macchia flowers, roasted chestnuts and chocolate-cassis liqueur. On the palate, the 4kilos Vinícola 4kilos is fruity, juicy and very concentrated. This fruity experience is accompanied by balsamic notes, warm undergrowth and hints of chocolate. The rich tannins are already beginning to melt and promise excellent development potential. The Mallorcan also impresses on the finish with great complexity and an excellent aftertaste.

Bodegas 4 Kilos:

The name "4Kilos" comes from the original investment in the bodega, which, converted into the old currency, was 4 million (=kilo) pesetas. A very modest sum in this sector, which shows that producing an outstanding top-quality wine does not require a large financial outlay, but rather ambition and passion for the product.

The "4Kilos" has an unmistakable signature and stands for the uncompromising realisation of the high quality standards of the two partners Francesc Grimalt and Sergio Caballero. Founded in 2006 with unconventional methods, the company immediately made it onto the list of discerning wine lovers and sommeliers with sensational success.
