Tasting note:
Brilliant golden yellow colour. Freshly cut grapefruit, elderberry, fine wood and, as unusual as it may sound, molten rock. This is followed by ripe orange, freshly plucked thyme and sage. The first sip is soft for a brief moment, but then its straightforwardness dominates, despite the immense complexity. An effervescent acidity sets its ripe components in motion and emphasises its immense length and minerality.

Thomas Studach:
Thomas Studach has been producing his extremely rare wines since 1988. He produces a maximum of 12,000 bottles on just 3 hectares. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Completer. Yields are kept very low by pruning, and only the best grapes are used. Studach is a great advocate of working in the vineyard, clean work pays off. His wines are often labelled 'world class'. He produces wines of immense depth, complexity and longevity.
The great potential of the wines is immediately apparent at the first tasting. Either you drink the wines young in the fruit phase, or you let the wines mature for 5 to 8 years or more and your patience will be rewarded with great wine art, which need fear no comparison with the great Burgundies. Patience is rewarded with the great cinema of Swiss winemaking.
With his unshakeable belief in the future, Thomas Studach does not shy away from any challenge, he hates mediocrity and is only satisfied with himself and the world when he has achieved the best and realised his ambitious ideas. From the very beginning, Thomas Studach has pursued his work in the vineyards and in the cellar with perfectionism, respect and passion. These are qualities that make it possible to preserve the fine fruit, complexity and elegance of the Pinot grape. My wines must reflect the vintage at a high level. They don't have to be a Hercules, but they must reveal a combination of finesse and structure in harmony on the palate and in the finish! A single top quality Pinot Noir is vinified and matured to 100% in barriques. He took a risk at the time and had to summon up all his courage to produce something special, a unique wine. Over the years, the wines have become even finer, even more elegant and even better. Endowed with harmony, sensuality and finesse, the typical characteristics of Studach wines, the Pinot Noir boasts an impressive concentrated richness of extract and only reveals its true, magnificent, Burgundian qualities after two to three years of ageing in the bottle.
