Tasting note:
The Lindengelb is dry, mineral and well-structured. Citrus notes and freshness dominate the palate. It is worth being particularly patient here and savouring the wine with a little maturity.
Lindenhof Winery:
For a long time, the Lindenhof in the centre of Osterfingen was the largest farm in the village, until Jakob Richli devoted himself entirely to winegrowing and pressing. Thanks to his visionary groundwork, the Lindenhof has a selection of Osterfingen's most interesting vineyards and grape varieties, covering almost 6 hectares. In 2018, 9 hectares of vines in Hallau were added to the estate, meaning that the winery now has a wide variety of Klettgau terroir at its disposal. The Klettgau wine-growing region is located on the edge of the Central Plateau in the rain shadow of the Black Forest. For Switzerland, this means an exceptionally mild climate with little rainfall. The soils in Klettgau are characterised by limestone, which sedimented in the Jura millions of years ago.
Today, the Lindenhof winery is run by Matthias and Nuria. Matthias comes from the Liechtenstein Rhine Valley and dedicated himself to viticulture after studying biochemistry. After years of travelling from Switzerland to Oregon and New Zealand in pursuit of Pinot, he met Nuria while studying in Montpellier. The two then moved to Nuria's home region, the Priorat in Catalonia. At Terroir al Limit in Torroja, they were able to gain experience together in biodynamic viticulture and natural winemaking. However, the longing for Pinot Noir remained, which is why they are now at home in Osterfingen.
