Vinification:
Matured for 14 months in new, medium and medium to heavily burnt French oak barriques, with racking halfway through. Aged for 2 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
Tasting note:
It enchants the nose with a complex bouquet of aromas and hints of cassis, black cherry and some plum, a hint of cinnamon and pepper, roasted flavours and some vanilla as well as some mocha and tobacco. On the palate, it unfolds wonderfully with its velvety mouthfeel colour, powerful bouquet of tobacco, black cherries and blueberries with earthy and mineral aromas.
Bodegas Anima Negra:
Bodega Anima Negra is located in the south-east of the island of Mallorca. Here, the wines are produced in the old "Possessio" Son Burguera winery. Pere Obrador and Miquel Ángel Cerdá were among the first winemakers on Mallorca to focus on uncompromising quality. Their philosophy is to continue to develop Anima Negra as a sophisticated winery that preserves the cultural heritage closely linked to Mallorca's history in its original form and, in particular, to promote the cultivation of indigenous grape varieties such as Manto Negre, Fogoneu, Premsal Blanc and, above all, Callet. They are committed to biodynamic viticulture and a balanced, healthy ecosystem, which is why you will also find apricot and peach trees, rye and broad beans in their idyllic vineyards - the vines thrive here in a natural balance.
