Grape varieties: Callet, Manto Negro, Merlot

Vinification:

Binigrau's "B" is only produced in the best years. For this wine, Matías Batle relies mainly on the indigenous grape varieties Manto Negro and Callet, which together make up 80% of the cuvée. Naturally, the biodynamically cultivated grapes are all harvested by hand. The wine is matured for 16 months in French barriques before being bottled directly at the winery and aged for a further month in the bottle.

Tasting note:

The Bi-Negre, or B-Negre for short, red wine from Binigrau marks the top red wine from the winery. The three Batle brothers have once again created a very special wine from the local Callet and Manto Negro grape varieties and the international Merlot grape variety. Old vines, careful selection and a great deal of sensitivity in the ageing of the wine ultimately create these breathtaking results time and time again. The Bi- or B-Seleccio is still relatively new and represents the best wine, each as a red, white wine and rosado. 80% of the B-Negre is made up of indigenous grape varieties. Only a maximum of 20% consists of Merlot. The wine is carefully matured for 16 months in French, one-year-old barriques and the Bi-Negre is complex, multi-layered, intense and inspiring. Its character is characterised by aromas of plums, cinnamon and cloves. Underpinned by a hint of tobacco, it gives this wine a warm and deep flavour. Full and aromatic on the palate, but emphatically harmonious. A wine for enjoyable moments.

Binigrau Winery:

The winery is located in Biniali. State-of-the-art technology is used to produce the wines, while traditional manual labour is maintained.
