Fermentation and maceration 10 months, 70% in barriques, 2nd, 3rd and 4th passage.

Tasting note:

This wine is a powerhouse that has become a steady little engine for the winery's economy and has grown from a production of 36,000 bottles to 140,000 bottles per year today. This vintage manages the balancing act between dark fruit and concentration on the one hand and an approachable, easy-drinking personality on the other. Black fruits merge with baked brioche, spices and roasted aniseed.

Le Macchiole:

The 22 hectares of vineyards are extremely densely planted with around 10,000 vines per hectare and are cultivated organically. The grapes are very strictly selected. From the very beginning, the aim of the management was to maximise the characteristics of the terroir in the individual subzones on their own land.

The Le Macchiole winery has received numerous top ratings from wine critics to date. For its many years of service, it was crowned Italy's best winery by the Associazione Italiana Sommelier (AIS) in 2009 and Wine Enthusiast magazine named it winery of the year two years later.
