Vinification:

Maceration for approx. 15 days in steel tanks Maturation: 10 months, 70% in 3rd and 4th passage oak barrels.

Tasting note:

Classic Bolgheri Rosso with a strong bouquet of raspberries and redcurrants, cassis and a little tobacco. Juicy, full-bodied flavour, beautiful tannins and good acidity. A wonderful introduction to the great world of Le Macchiole wines. Matured for 11 months in barriques

Le Macchiole:

The 22 hectares of vineyards are extremely densely planted with around 10,000 vines per hectare and are cultivated organically. The grapes are very strictly selected. From the very beginning, the aim of the management was to maximise the characteristics of the terroir in the individual subzones on their own land.

The Le Macchiole winery has received numerous top ratings from wine critics to date. For its many years of service, it was crowned Italy's best winery by the Associazione Italiana Sommelier (AIS) in 2009 and Wine Enthusiast magazine named it winery of the year two years later.
