Die 2021er sind von großer Reinheit und Frische, und der gleichnamige 2021er Dominio de Atauta ist da keine Ausnahme. Er wird aus einer Auswahl der besten Weinberge im Atauta-Tal hergestellt und ist komplex, hat Tiefe, eine gute Reife, 14,5 % Alkohol, einen pH-Wert von 3,63 und 5,05 Gramm Säure. Sie verfügen über 25 verschiedene Terroirs, und dieser Verschnitt ist komplex, kraftvoll und elegant und spiegelt die Bedingungen des Ortes und des Jahrgangs wider, mit zusätzlicher Frische. Die Gärung erfolgte in 5.000-Liter-Eichenfässern mit einheimischen Hefen und die Reifung für 13 Monate in französischen Eichenfässern, davon 15% neu, gefolgt von weiteren vier Monaten in Eichenfässern, um eine bessere Stabilisierung des Weins zu erreichen. Das Jahr 2021 brachte eine gute Ernte, und es wurden 58.494 Flaschen und 1.260 Magnumflaschen produziert. Dies ist einer der besten Jahrgänge für diese Cuvée. Er wurde im Juni 2023 abgefüllt.

The founding of Bodegas Dominio de Atauta in 1999 marked a turning point in Ribera del Duero. For the first time, a significant investment was made in the eastern part of the DO, which was considered difficult due to the altitude. The estate is located near the small village of Atauta and obtains all of its grapes from the small valley of the same name, in which around 400 plots are spread over a length of almost four kilometres. Following a change of ownership, the young oenologist Almudena Alberca has been responsible for the wines since 2010. Her aim is to make the wines more accessible. The estate is famous for its three single-vineyard wines, which are among the best ever made from Tempranillo on the Duero. Due to the severity of the climate, the wines have a clear acidity, appear very concentrated but at the same time elegant, which motivates the winemaker to be very careful with new wood.
