Falstaff: 93 points

Alcohol content: 14.5% vol.

Grape varieties: 49% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Franc, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot

Vinification:

The grapes from the different parcels are harvested separately and vinified in steel tanks. After blending, the wine is matured in French oak barriques for eight months and a further 11 months in cement.

Tasting note:

Very bright ruby red colour. Notes of ripe red fruit on the nose, with spicy nuances and some lively balsamic hints. Crisp, fresh, dry and fruity flavour with soft tannins and a long finish.

Tenuta di Trinoro:

The Tenuta di Trinoro is located in an area without a wine-growing tradition, at the beginning of the Val d'Orcia, where Tuscany borders Umbria and Lazio. The recently deceased owner Andrea Franchetti began his training as a winemaker in Bordeaux, where he learnt the importance of the terroir.

Today, the estate is known for its rich and complex red wines made from Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, which are given a unique and unmistakable style through high planting density, drastic thinning of the grapes and low yields.
