Vinification:
Only the best lots are used for Umani Ronchi's top wine. Maceration takes 15 days. The young wine then matures for 14 months in French barriques made from Allier and Tronçais oak and a further 12 months in the bottle.
Tasting note:
Intense ruby red with garnet-red reflections. Wonderful, pronounced cassis notes on the nose. Blackberries, but also red berry flavours, surrounded by liquorice and precious woods. Aromatic, multi-layered and juicy on the palate, with a fine-core extract. The finish is long-lasting, the aftertaste characterised by ripe wild berries and vanilla. A complex, multi-layered wine, wonderfully precise, superbly structured and with good ageing potential.
Umani Ronchi:
With their Umani Ronchi wine company, the Bernetti family has earned an excellent reputation as one of the leading wine producers in the Marche region far beyond the borders of the region and the country. Today, the winery, which is based in Osimo in the province of Ancona and has a branch in Castelbellino, is run by Massimo Bernetti and his son Michele.
In addition to around 200 hectares of land in the Marche region between the Apennines and the Adriatic coast, the successful winemaking duo also own a further 30 hectares of vineyards in Abruzzo. The declared aim of the estate owners is to convincingly emphasise the specific terroirs in both wine regions as well as the local Montepulciano and Verdicchio grape varieties with their typical characteristics.
