Tasting note:

The Sapaio 2019 is once again a classic blend. This wine has changed from a Bolgheri Superiore to an IGT Toscana, as Massimo Piccin now sources a small proportion of the fruit from outside the appellation in Bibbona. The result is beautiful, with a full and generous bouquet and flavours of cherries, dried raspberries, cedar wood, grilled herbs and tobacco. This is a great vintage, of which 15,000 bottles are on the market.

Podere Sapaio:

Podere Sapaio was born in 1999 in Castagneto Carducci, Bolgheri, according to the will of Massimo Piccin, a Venetian engineer driven by a great passion for wine.

With a bold and visionary decision, a former farm with just a few rows of vines is transformed into a 25-hectare vineyard spread over 16 hectares in Bolgheri and 9 hectares in Bibbona. The company produces two labels, Sapaio and Volpolo, with the aim of becoming top wines in a unique region known worldwide.
