Vinifiaktion:

All the grapes for this Gran Reserva grow on the barren, stony soils of the 8-hectare single vineyard "La Scala". After a 2-week maceration period, fermentation in stainless steel tanks and malolactic fermentation, the wine was matured for 2 years in new French barriques. After bottling, it matured for a further 5 years in the bottle to develop its perfect harmony.

Tasting note:

The wine has a deep garnet to cherry red colour in the glass with ripe, rust-red highlights on the rim. On the nose, elegant aromas of precious woods on a background of dark fruit and spices. Also very elegant, complex and typical of the grape variety on the palate - softly balanced with harmoniously integrated tannins and delicately spicy roasted notes that linger on the finish. Goes particularly well with beef and game. Also with dark poultry and medium-strong or smoked cheese.

Jean Leon:

Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay have been cultivated on the estate since 1963. The estate, with a vineyard area of 60 hectares, is run in the classic Bordeaux style, with individual vineyards being consistently vinified. The estate switched to organic viticulture in 2008 and was certified in 2012.
