75 cl

Falstaff: 92 points

Alcohol content: 13.5% vol.

Grape varieties: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Alicante Bouschet, 20% Merlot

Vinification:

For 12 to 18 months, 50 %s mature in steel tanks and the other half in medium-aged French oak barrels and tonneaux, of which only 30 %s are new and selected from different woods and cooperages.
The wine then matures for a further 12 months in the bottle before being released onto the market.

Tasting note:

Dark, sparkling ruby red colour. Smoky on the nose with notes of iodine and blackberry, underpinned by slightly meaty flavours. Smooth on the palate, flavours of dark chocolate, mouth-filling and very juicy until the long finish.

Tenuta Monteti:

The Tenuta Monteti is a winery in the southern Maremma near Capalbio. Founded in 1998 by Gemma and Paolo Baratta, the estate was later taken over by their daughter Eva and her husband Javier Pedrazzini. Despite their very different professional backgrounds - she in film, he in diplomacy - the two decided to follow their passion for wine. The 30 hectares of vines are located in the middle of a total area of around 142 hectares, nestled in the hills with a view of the sea and well protected by the prehistoric Monteti volcano, which provides the vines with a unique microclimate.
