Vinification:

A normal start to spring 2013 was followed by an unusually rainy phase that put the professionalism of the winegrowers to the test. As summer began, the weather stabilised and optimism and cheerfulness returned to the vineyards along with the sun. Vine budding and flowering began late, but then proceeded evenly and normally. The grapes ripened slowly in August, indicating a medium-late harvest with increasing yields, good grape health and excellent quality. This excellent sparkling wine matures on the lees for at least 5 years.

Tasting note:

A radiant and vibrant old rose colour. This fine rosé presents itself in the glass with the finest perlage. The bouquet is rich and multi-faceted, reminiscent of cherries, dog roses and oranges. On the nose, this Riserva is almost more like a still wine than a sparkling wine. On the palate, it has a rich and fleshy structure, full and powerful, but without losing its balance. Long and digestible finish, with notes of red fruit and gingerbread.

Ferrari Trento:

Ferrari - the fine wines are among the best that Italy has to offer when it comes to spumanti. At Ferrari, quality is a top priority. Giulio Ferrari already focussed on this when, in 1902, he fermented the first Chardonnay grapes into a Spumante in the Champagne style, i.e. with a second fermentation in the bottle. With his ambitious project, the then 23-year-old laid the foundations for the company that today exports its Trentodoc sparkling wines all over the world.

In the 1950s, Ferrari handed over the business to Bruno Lunelli, a young wine merchant from Trento, due to a lack of offspring. The third Lunelli generation has now taken the helm. Under their leadership, Ferrari has won award after award for its sparkling wines and even won the title of Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year at the Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships in 2019 - for the third time after 2015 and 2017!
