Der Messorio 2018 von Le Macchiole ist weich und reichhaltig mit beeindruckender Tiefe und Intensität, und das alles mit der Weichheit, die nur die Merlot-Traube zustande bringt. Dieser bedeutende Wein entfaltet zunächst reiche Kirsch- und Brombeeraromen und gibt dann sanft zu sekundären Noten von Gewürzen, Bäckerschokolade und gerösteten Mandeln nach. Im Mund zeigt sich eine gewisse jugendliche Straffheit mit Merlot-Tanninen, die fest und weich zugleich sind, dabei aber eine beeindruckende Länge aufweisen. Das Mundgefühl ist beeindruckend, da es nahtlos und geschmeidig ist und sanft über den Gaumen gleitet.

Le Macchiole:

The 22 hectares of vineyards are extremely densely planted with around 10,000 vines per hectare and are cultivated organically. The grapes are very strictly selected. From the very beginning, the aim of the management was to maximise the characteristics of the terroir in the individual subzones on their own land.

The Le Macchiole winery has received numerous top ratings from wine critics to date. For its many years of service, it was recognised as the best winery in Italy by the Associazione Italiana Sommelier (AIS) in 2009 and two years later by the magazine Wine Enthusiast crowned winery of the year.
