CHF 25.00
In stock
75 cl
Alcohol content: 13.5% vol.
Grape varieties: 100% Petite Arvine
Vinification:
Controlled fermentation without malolactic fermentation. In accordance with AOC regulations and the quality requirements of the Albert Mathier wine family.
Tasting note:
Intense fragrance reminiscent of exotic fruits, such as pineapple and lime. Notes of grapefruit and honey are also noticeable. On the palate, the Aphrodine is full-bodied, refreshing and lively with mineral flavours and grapefruit aromas. Two essential components characterise the tasting: salt and grapefruit, which make the wine an exceptional pleasure.
Albert Mathier:
The Mathiers came to Salgesch in 1387. Originally from Marseille, they travelled to Switzerland via Grenoble. The reason was poverty and the opportunity to earn money abroad as mercenaries. They soon discovered that the region was ideal for winegrowing. And they realised that a good glass of wine was far more conducive to life than warfare. Albert Mathier - as the name suggests, the founder of Albert Mathier & Söhne AG - was born in 1891, the second of nine children. He married Monika in 1918. This marriage produced five children. When the global economy was in the doldrums, the family tried to defy the recession by ploughing up fields and meadows and planting vines. With their wine press house, they laid the foundations for their own wine history and that of the red wine metropolis of Salgesch.
