In French oak barrels, at controlled temperature To 50% in new and to 50% in used French oak barrels. 16 months in barrels and 20 months ageing in the bottle.

Tasting note:

The 2021 Roda, formerly known as Roda II, is characterised by more red than black fruit aromas and a more approachable profile; in this cooler and very well-balanced year, it was produced from a blend of Tempranillo, 6 % Garnacha and 5 % Graciano. It displays notes of aromatic herbs, wild berries and flowers; it is quite spicy and of medium body on the palate, with restrained ripeness and an alcohol content of 14 %; the polished and rounded tannins of the 2021 vintage make it very harmonious and long-lasting. It was aged for 14 months in equal parts new and once-used French barriques. The oak is cleanly integrated, and the wine presents itself as young and pure.

Bodegas Roda:

The bodega was founded in 1987 in Haro on the River Ebro in the heart of the D.O.Ca Rioja wine region in Spain by the Catalan winemaker couple Mario Rotllant and Carmen Daurella.

The bodega's 40 hectares of vineyards are spread over 3 carefully selected sites and are planted with the classic Rioja grape varieties Tempranillo, Garnacha Tinta and Graciano. The vines on the bodega's property are up to 70 years old.
