Vinification:

This white Merlot is fermented exclusively in French oak barriques and then aged for eight months.

Tasting note:

The wine is straw yellow in the glass with an aroma of elderflower, meringue and white chocolate. On the palate, the Roncaia Bianco is balanced, with a substantial minerality in which the aroma of vanilla pod harmonises well with the fruit flavours.

Vinattieri:

The Vinattieri winery was built in the classic Bordeaux style: The centrepiece is the courtyard, the heart, where the grapes are delivered and selected. Depending on the quality, the wine is matured in steel tanks or barriques. After bottling, Vinattieri allows the wines to mature in the bottle, which can take between one and four years, depending on the variety.

Over the years, the Vinattieri winery has taken over a significant area of vineyards, which are essentially spread over three sites. 80 per cent of the vineyards in Mendrisiotto are located on limestone soils of various origins. The Lugano and Malcantone areas, on the other hand, have more acidic soils that produce fresher wines.
