Vinification:
Aged for 18 months, half in new barriques and half in used barriques.
Tasting note:
On the nose, there are aromas of cherries, plums and blackcurrants, along with a hint of nougat and a subtle, slightly peppery spice. Firm on the palate, juicy and well-balanced, with a long finish.
Pöckl Winery:
René Pöckl manages the over 100-year-old family winery in the village of Mönchhof on Lake Neusiedl together with his wife Eva in the 4th generation. The flavoursome red terroir wines all have a dense, fleshy structure with plenty of power and a balancing, noble finesse and elegance. The ageing potential of the Pöckl wines is remarkable!
