Robert Parker: 94 points
Alcohol content: 14 % vol.
Grape varieties: 100% Verdejo
Vinification:
The grapes are harvested separately, vinified separately and then matured on the lees for 10 months in new French oak barrels. A selection is then made for the "assemblage". The entire production is bottled at the same time and remains in the bottle for at least 5 months before being released onto the market.
Tasting note:
The spicy 2022 Belondrade y Lurton was harvested in a warm and dry year in which it had to be picked quite early. It shows no signs of excessive ripeness on the nose and feels quite fresh and harmonious. It is elegant, surprisingly restrained, clean and with integrated oak, limited ripeness and 14% alcohol on the label. It is flavoursome and harmonious and finishes dry with a clean, long and chalky finish. It was bottled in July 2023.
Belondrade:
Since it was founded in 2000, BELONDRADE has been committed to and practised sustainable viticulture in order to preserve and promote the biodiversity present in the vineyards of the Quinta San Diego estate. By obtaining organic certification in 2010, this quest for a more natural and authentic expression of the Terroirs of La Seca officially sealed.
