Vinification:

Göttlesbrunn, with its gently rolling hills and wooded landscape, is characterised by a wide variety of soils and microclimates. Especially in the cooler vineyards close to the forest, with their limestone-rich soils, the Burgundy varieties produce wines of crystalline structure and high complexity. Spontaneous fermentation in large French oak barrels at 20-25°C, after which the wine is matured on the lees for a further 12 months in large wooden barrels.

Tasting note:

The nose reveals floral notes of white flowers, spicy alpine herbs and ripe yellow fruit. On the palate, the Göttlesbrunn has an animating, juicy tension with a great drinking flow. Mineral, long-lasting on the finish.

Winery Markowitsch:

Gerhard Markowitsch is one of those exceptional talents who know how to produce exceptional wines. Through perfection in the vineyard, meticulous selection of the grapes and interaction with the latest technology, the likeable winemaker manages to refine his wines every year and further improve their quality.

Gerhard Markowitsch's wines are authentic, independent and accurately reflect the characters of local and international grape varieties. In 1999, Falstaff named him Winemaker of the Year; and his "Markowitsch M1" has just been awarded the full 100 points by Falstaff. His principles of patience, balance, character and technique have thus paid off in full. We are thrilled - not only by the variety, but also by the character of each individual wine. A particularly exciting producer who we will certainly be hearing a lot more about in the future.
