Vinification:

Maturation over 162 to 18 months, 80% in steel tanks, 20 % in new barriques, further 12 months maturation in the bottle

Tasting note:

Ruby red in colour with light garnet reflections. The nose reveals intense aromas of ripe black cherries, notes of undergrowth, rhubarb, red wild roses, violets and spices. Harmonious in the mouth, with lively tannins and a fine spicy aftertaste of precious wood.

Castellare di Castellina:

Like many Tuscan wine estates, Castellare di Castellina is picturesquely situated amidst vineyards and olive groves. The Milanese publisher Paolo Panerai acquired the feudal estate in the 1970s out of a passion for the Chianti region. With great care, attention to detail and a high awareness of quality, he led the production site to the top of Tuscany.
