Vinification:

Classically aged in wooden barrels of 5000 litres, then refined in new oak barrels for 18 months.

Tasting note:

Compote-like fruit flavours on the nose. Notes of strawberry, raspberry, cherry and cassis. Some mocha, clove, orange zest and cinnamon join in. Elegant on the palate, fresh acidity and equally fruity. Juicy and balanced. Well-integrated tannins, long ethereal-spicy finish.

Vinattieri:

The Vinattieri winery was built in the classic Bordeaux style: The centrepiece is the courtyard, the heart, where the grapes are delivered and selected. Depending on the quality, the wine is matured in steel tanks or barriques. After bottling, Vinattieri allows the wines to mature in the bottle, which can take between one and four years, depending on the variety.

Over the years, the Vinattieri winery has taken over a significant area of vineyards, which are essentially spread over three sites. 80 per cent of the vineyards in Mendrisiotto are located on limestone soils of various origins. The Lugano and Malcantone areas, on the other hand, have more acidic soils that produce fresher wines.
