Château Poujeaux is one of the most renowned wineries in the appellation Moulis-en-Médoc in Bordeaux. It is known as Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel It is classified and consistently ranks alongside the great Grand Cru Classé estates in terms of quality.
Region: The vineyard is situated in the heart of the Moulis appellation, north-west of Saint-Julien on the Médoc peninsula.
Floors: The vines are situated on the famous, elevated The gravel plateau at Grand-Poujeaux. The gravelly soils provide excellent conditions for drainage and the ripening of the grapes.
Area: What makes it special is an area of around 52 hectares, contiguous plot. This is an absolute rarity in the often highly fragmented Bordeaux region.
OwnerSince 2008 The château belongs to the French The Cuvelier family. The family also owns the famous Premier Grand Cru Classé estate Clos Fourtet in Saint-Émilion.
