Chateau Talbot:
Château Talbot is a renowned French winery in the appellation Saint-Julien in the wine-growing region Bordeaux. Since the historic The 1855 Bordeaux Classification is the estate known as Quatrième Grand Cru Classé has been recognised as such and is now one of the best-known and most reliable producers of the Médoc.
History and Name

- Constable Talbot: The vineyard was named after the English general and governor John Talbot (Earl of Shrewsbury), who was killed in 1453 at the Battle of Castillon.
- The Cordier family: In 1917, the well-known Cordier family of merchants acquired the estate. Today, the estate is run by the fourth generation of the family, Nancy Bignon-Cordier and her family.
Terroir and vineyards
- Size: The vineyard covers around 110 hectares in a single contiguous block, which is unusually large for the region.
- Floor: The terroir consists mainly of fine Gravel and alluvial soil on calcareous subsoil, near the Gironde estuary
- grape varieties: The vineyards are traditionally planted with around 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% to 30% Planted with Merlot and smaller proportions of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.
