Tasting note:
The extraordinary thing about this wine is its character. It has the aroma of a great, noble Bordeaux, it has something sublime about it. This wine with its flavours of concentrated dark, almost black fruit, the fine herbal nuances, the spice of liquorice, eucalyptus, vanilla, rose scent and dark chocolate give it its stately complexity. The greatness of this wine is evident in all individual aspects: in the structure, in the finish, in the exceptional flavour.
Chateau Phelan Segur:
The Grand Vin from Château Phélan Ségur comes from this magnificent terroir in Saint-Estèphe, where vigour dominates. Strengthened by its origins, Château Phélan Ségur has created its identity on the basis of elegance and finesse. With a certain restraint and great precision, it reveals the purity of the fruit, the precision of its structure, the suppleness of its tannins, all with a natural freshness.
After a long ageing period, it develops a bouquet of rare complexity, into which the oak blends harmoniously. This subtle and authentic balance creates an intense emotion. Château Phélan Ségur is known for its potential to age over several decades. An old vintage opens up new aromatic horizons with an unexpected richness: the warmth of spices, the generosity of ripe fruit and the nobility of leather.
Its texture is refined, its vigour is tamed. This fullness bears witness to the passage of time, and this blossoming is the reward for wise patience. Exceptional vintages, born from the generosity of nature, surpassed by the talent of man. In addition to these undisputed milestones, there are vintages that are close to the hearts of the Château team. They are witnesses to the life of the estate and an expression of great emotions.
