Vinification:

The grapes are harvested by hand and pressed as gently as possible. The must then ferments in 30 litre oak barrels. The wine is aged for approx. 18 months in new oak barrels of various sizes,

Tasting note:

Intense ruby red colour. Aromas of wild berries, blackberries and sour cherries on the nose, accompanied by a balsamic note and a hint of sweet spices on the finish. On the palate, a broad attack with a good structure dominated by well-integrated tannins and complex flavours with a pleasant freshness. A nectar with character and great personality with excellent ageing potential.

Vinattieri:

The Vinattieri winery was built in the classic Bordeaux style: The centrepiece is the courtyard, the heart, where the grapes are delivered and selected. Depending on the quality, the wine is matured in steel tanks or barriques. After bottling, Vinattieri allows the wines to mature in the bottle, which can take between one and four years, depending on the variety.

Over the years, the Vinattieri winery has taken over a significant area of vineyards, which are essentially spread over three sites. 80 per cent of the vineyards in Mendrisiotto are located on limestone soils of various origins. The Lugano and Malcantone areas, on the other hand, have more acidic soils that produce fresher wines.
