75 cl
Falstaff: 92 points
Alcohol content: 14% vol.
Grape varieties: 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot
Vinification:
20 months in French oak barriques, with 50 % of new wood.
Tasting note:
Brilliant ruby with dark, aubergine-coloured nuances. Juicy black cherry, dark chocolate and cedar wood on the nose, with a hint of forest floor behind it. On the palate with a dense and velvety texture, concentrated fruit that sags a little in the centre, firm tannins. Medium finish with a slightly drying palate.
Monteverro:
Monteverro is located at the foot of the village of Capalbio in the southernmost part of Tuscany, the Maremma. The vineyard is located a few kilometres from the sea and is characterised by its characteristic slopes with stony red clay soils.
What makes Monteverro unique is also its people. Their passion for wine means that they make no compromises when it comes to the manual processing and selection of grapes in order to ultimately bring out the best in every grape variety, every terroir and every vintage with precision and innovative winemaking techniques.
