Grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Nero

Vinification:

This Bellavista rosé hails from the Franciacorta DOCG region in Lombardy and is characterised by a cuvée of Chardonnay and Pinot Nero. The grapes are grown around Erbusco on limestone-rich moraine soils, harvested at the end of August and selectively processed. Part of the must ferments and matures in small wooden barrels, whilst the remainder is aged in stainless steel, before undergoing a second fermentation in the bottle. The long ageing on the lees over several years lends structure and depth, whilst the very low dosage keeps the style clear and precise.

Tasting note:

Delicate red berries, pomegranate and floral notes characterise the bouquet, accompanied by a cool, mineral freshness. The effervescence is delicate and persistent, underpinned by crisp acidity and a dry, straightforward finish. Pairs well with raw fish, shellfish or delicate starters with a Mediterranean influence.

Bellavista Franciacorta:

Bellavista was founded in Franciacorta in 1977 by Vittorio Moretti, who decided to turn the small family-owned winery into a company. These first historic vineyards of exceptional quality are located on the Bellavista hill, named after its beautiful location. From there you can see Lake Iseo and the entire Po Valley as far as the Alps. The vines, which are on average 25 years old, are cultivated using the Guyot system.
