Vinification in steel tanks at a controlled temperature for 8 - 10 months. 100% malolactic fermentation. (synonymous with BSA, malolactic fermentation)

Tasting note:

The Chablis 1er Cru shows a beautiful pale yellow colour with green reflections in the glass. The nose is characterised by white peach and citrus fruits. On the palate, this Chardonnay is seductively full and round with fine notes of vanilla and marzipan. The finish is fresh and mineral.

Maison Louis Latour is one of the most famous and long-established wine-growing and trading houses (Négociant-Éleveur) in Burgundy, France. The centrepiece and historic headquarters of the associated vineyard is the striking Château Corton-Grancey.

Head Office & Cellar: This historic trading house is based in the wine town of Beaune (Côte d’Or).

The Château: The associated château, Château Corton-Grancey, and the historic wine cellars are situated in the commune of Aloxe-Corton.

Vineyards: The estate owns around 50 hectares of its own vineyards. These include the largest contiguous collection of Grand Cru sites on the Côte d’Or. The vineyards span premier sites such as Corton-Charlemagne, Chambertin, Corton-Grancey and Romanée-Saint-Vivant.

Family-owned: The company has been independently family-owned without interruption since its foundation in 1797.

Guided tour: Today, the house is run by Florent Latour, the 11th generation of the family, in his capacity as CEO. He took over the reins following the death of his brother, Louis-Fabrice Latour, in 2022. Thanks to this long and unbroken family tradition, the house is also a member of the exclusive club of Henokiens.

Elegance and finesse: Louis Latour’s wines are renowned worldwide for their elegant, fragrant and well-balanced style It is well known that they favour finesse over heavy over-extraction.

White wines (Chardonnay): The famous Whites (led by the legendary Corton-Charlemagne) are characterised by a harmonious interplay of power, rich fruit and lively minerality from. 

Red wines (Pinot Noir): Red Burgundies are generally characterised by their fruitiness, with subtle spicy notes, a bright, clear colour and round, very silky tannins. 

Distinctive feature: Louis Latour is the only major winery in Burgundy to operate its own cooperage. The wines are aged in oak barrels specially crafted in-house, which gives the wine a very distinctive, perfectly balanced oak flavour.
