Subtle notes of herbs, black cherries, plums and cassis. Dark, ruby red and elegant Red wine from France.
Chateau Talbot:
Château Talbot's 110 hectares of vineyards extend around the estate, in the heart of the appellation.
On a terroir of fine Günzian gravel on a clay soil that forms draining hills, we find a majority of red vines (105 hectares) and a confidential area of white vines (5 hectares).
The red wines are dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, which accounts for 70 % of the vineyard area. It provides tannin structure and vigour. Merlot (26 %) gives the wines roundness and suppleness.
To perfect this alchemy of grape varieties and terroirs, Petit Verdot (4 %) is added, like a spice in the kitchen. It is particularly pampered at Talbot, where Nancy Bignon-Cordier has a soft spot for this enfant terrible.
