37 cl
Falstaff: 93 points
Alcohol content: 12.5% vol.
Grape varieties: 55% Pinot Noir, 45% Chardonnay
Vinification:
According to tradition, the Pinot Noir is fully fermented into a red wine and then mixed with a small proportion of Chardonnay. This not only creates the beautiful rosé colour, but also adds structure to the champagne. The assemblage is followed by bottle fermentation according to the méthode champenoise with subsequent maturation on the fine lees.
Tasting note:
Medium salmon pink colour, golden reflections, fine mousseux. A hint of ripe heart cherries, delicate hints of red forest berry confit, candied orange zest. Medium complexity, fine fruit sweetness, elegant, harmonious, shows good freshness, mineral in the aftertaste, stays well on the palate, a multifaceted begelitre at the table.
Ruinart:
Connoisseurs and connoisseurs who are looking for something special and value outstanding quality are well advised to choose champagnes from Ruinart. The house can look back on a long company history. Ruinart was founded by Nicolas Ruinart in Reims in 1729, making it the first and oldest champagne house. The house's unique style of flavour, the Gout Ruinart, is the legacy of this long company tradition and is still cultivated today by the owners, managers and cellar masters of the house.
The deliberate decision to use a very high proportion of Chardonnay grapes in all cuvées - the most delicate and elegant of all Champagne grape varieties - demonstrates an uncompromising pursuit of perfection. The individual design of the champagnes bears witness to unrivalled expertise, the fine art of blending. Every single Ruinart cuvée, whether "R" de Ruinart, Ruinart Blanc de Blancs or Ruinart Rosé, has its own unmistakable style: fine bubbles, exceptional purity and freshness.
