75 cl
Alcohol content: 15% vol.
Grape varieties: 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo)
Vinification:
Vinified in steel tanks, then aged for 16 months in 50% new French and American barriques.
Tasting note:
Impenetrable purple colour in the glass. Black berries, aromatic herbs, subtle precious wood and coffee as well as a hint of fine pipe tobacco on the nose. Lots of freshness on the palate, an elegant texture and harmonious acidity and tannin structure, which is excellently woven into the peppery fruit. Exceptional length with a full-bodied, intense finish.
Bodegas Aalto:
The AALTO project was launched in February 1999, in the famous Ribera del Duero wine region (Spain). The fundamental objective for Mariano García and Javier Zaccagnini was to produce a particularly high-quality wine with a distinctive character through AALTO, reflecting an honest image of the diversity of the environment and bringing it together at the end of the ageing process to achieve the right balance and complexity.
A few years later, in 2006, the Masaveu and Nozaleda families joined AALTO. They own their own bodegas in other wine-growing regions in Spain and enriched the project with their expertise and the necessary stability, which ultimately contributed to the consolidation of the bodega to this day.
From the beginning in 1999 until the 2004 harvest, the wines were produced in rented facilities in Roa (Burgos). While the project was being consolidated, the search began for a new location for the new winery. A beautiful 15-hectare plot of land belonging to the municipality of Quintanilla de Arriba (Valladolid) was chosen.
The first phase in the new bodega was completed in 2005. This was the first harvest to be carried out in these facilities. The modern design of this new bodega is based exclusively on the highest quality standards. The architectural design of the bodega is fully integrated into the surroundings, in an area that is particularly characteristic of the Ribera del Duero, with a simple and harmonious design, far from any ostentation, with minimalist, elegant and comfortable details. The second phase - the more public part - was completed in 2016.
