Vinification:
The Insieme is a unique cuvée from two wine-growing regions, blending 80 % Pinot Noir from the Bündner Herrschaft with 15 % Cabernet Sauvignon and 5 % Syrah from the family-owned Poggio al Sole vineyard in Tuscany. The individual grape varieties are carefully vinified and then blended into a harmonious composition that impressively combines the strengths of both regions of origin.
Tasting note:
«Insieme» means «together» in Italian and symbolises the union of the Davaz family’s two estates. This cuvée combines the elegance and fruitiness of Graubünden Pinot Noir with the power and spice of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from Tuscany. On the nose, there are aromas of dark berries, cherries, delicate spices and subtle toasted notes. On the palate, the wine is well-balanced, full-bodied and elegant, with ripe tannins and a long, harmonious finish.
Davaz Winery:
The Davaz winery is an established name in the Bündner Herrschaft region and has a long tradition: the first vines were planted in a prime location in Fläsch back in 1972. This laid the foundation for the success story of Davaz wines. In order to dedicate themselves even more to the vineyard and to be close to it, the parents Hans and Annemarie moved with their five children directly to the newly built vineyard settlement between Fläsch and Maienfeld. With a great deal of passion and commitment, it didn't take long for the wines to develop from insider tips to absolute top wines. The loyal clientele grew steadily. Micha and Luca - the sons of Andrea and Marianne Davaz - are now the third generation to work in the business, ensuring that tradition, values and craftsmanship are carried into the future.
