CHF 46.00

75 cl
Falstaff: 95 points
Alcohol content: 15% vol.
Grape varieties: Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Merlot, Ráthay, Cabernet Sauvignon
Vinification:
The wine benefits from a particularly long maceration period with the skins and seeds on the must, followed by ageing in new barriques – some of which are „double-oaked“ – for a period of up to 24 months.
Tasting note:
Intense black berry fruit, ripe heart cherries and dried fruit, accompanied by a hint of liquorice and cassis, underpinned by spicy notes of dark nougat and tobacco. On the palate, once again, ripe fruit; complex and, as the name suggests, substantial, with well-integrated tannins and a subtle hint of fine wood in the finish.
Keringer Winery:
Robert and Marietta Keringer took over their parents« business in Mönchhof in 2004 and have expanded it from five hectares to a vineyard covering around one hundred hectares. A good eighty per cent of their production consists of red wines, primarily Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch from the Heideboden vineyards on Lake Neusiedl. The »100 Days’ range is characterised by a maceration period of at least one hundred days, whilst the ‘Massiv’ label stands for dense, powerful wines with great depth. The estate has been certified under the ‘Nachhaltig Austria’ scheme since 2019. Internationally, Keringer collects medals like hardly any other Austrian winery.
