Vinification:
The grapes used for the Russo Siaccio undergo a 15-day fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 6 months in a combination of new and used oak barrels, which lends it additional structure and complexity.
Tasting note:
The Russo Siaccio offers an intense, fresh bouquet with aromas of ripe dark fruits and a hint of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is complex and multi-layered with an elegant texture. Its round, velvety tannins harmonise perfectly with spicy notes of liquorice and cedar wood. The finish is robust and lingering, accompanied by a pleasant fruity aftertaste.
Azienda Russo:
The Russo Farm is an exceptionally authentic, family-run farm and a renowned vineyard in the municipality of Suvereto in the Tuscan Maremma. The farm is situated on a hill Podere Metocchina and is run by Michele Russo with great passion and craftsmanship.
What makes this Azienda special is its philosophy: whilst many of the surrounding estates have been transformed into prestige properties by major investors, Azienda Russo remains a genuine, down-to-earth agricultural business. Across some 12.5 hectares of vineyards, as well as additional olive groves and pastures, 100 % organic and worked in harmony with nature.
