75 cl
Alcohol content: 14 % vol.
Grape varieties: 100% Sangiovese
Vinification
The destemmed grapes were gravity-fed into conical 100 hl stainless steel tanks. The 14 to 16-day fermentation with pure yeasts and maceration took place at temperatures of 24° to 27°C with daily circulation of the marc cap. 22 months in 500 litre tonneaux, including 30% first fermentation and 70% second fermentation.
Tasting note:
Rich ruby red colour. Fine and elegant aromas of strawberries, cranberries, red plums, cherries and dark spices. Good structure on the palate with present but well-integrated tannins. Powerful but well-balanced through to the long finish.
Barone Ricasoli:
A fairytale vineyard with rolling hills, healthy forests and the imposing 12th century Castello di Brolio owned by the Ricasoli family.
Since 1993, the 32nd generation has been in charge - Baron Francesco Ricasoli.
Today, Ricasoli is one of the flagship wineries in Chianti Classico. High-quality individual vineyards, each characterised by its own unique terroir: The three crus - Colledilà, Roncicone and CeniPrimo - are vinified purely from Sangiovese and bring the wonderful characteristics of this grape variety, which are further enhanced by the vineyards of the same name, into the glass. The grapes are harvested and selected manually.
